First order of business, Google's stock rose past the $600/share mark for the first time. I remember I told my dad to buy the stock when it was around $250 a share, unbelievable!
In other news, Google said it's going to introduce a new way of embedding ads into youtube videos. This is great news for me and my blog because it means I'll actually get paid for all the people that watch youtube videos via my site. Basically, the revenue made on each video will be divided between the creator, 'the google' and the website. Google didn't specify how much each share will be but I guess it's better than nothing. The down side to this system is, bloggers won't necessarily control what videos get put on their sites and not all publishers will make money off their content; only about 100 companies have signed on to participate in this service (only big names, not many viral videos or videographers).
The point is though, this a step in the right direction for google. I'm sure just like adsense this will turn into something really powerful for the company. In more news, there are talks of a google PHONE. However, some speculate that google will only offer a suite of google software to handset manufactures enabling another avenue for google ads.
anyway,
