Microsoft unveils the new ZUNEs

I'm seriously thinking about getting rid of my I-pod and purchasing a ZUNE. I sick of APPLE, i-tunes, i pods, i phones, EVERYTHING...except ibooks and macs. You don't realize how dumb i-tunes is until you get a new computer, or have two computers, or loose your i-pod.

The new ZUNES have wifi capability and although you can't BUY tunes over the air, you will be able to SYNC your music from another source. If I understand that correctly, it means you can listen to music from a computer or other device on your ZUNE. The single best feature that the ZUNE offers is the ability to share music with your peers. There's no expiration date on shared music but if you're sharing music between more than 2 people the 3rd person can only listen to the song 3 times(weird I know).

Microsoft has gone great lengths to improve this product, they're introducing a social networking beta to go with the release of the ZUNE allowing users to connect with one another on a greater level.

What about pricing? They will come in 4gb ($150), 8gb($200) and 80gb models ($250). The 4 and 8 gig models are about the size of a nano while the 80 gig features a 3.2" screen and only comes in black.

All in all, the ZUNE looks pretty attractive on paper, I need to do a bit more research before I make the switch but we'll see!

by for now,
