Scalpers gone WILD!

The girl from Hannah Montana is going on a 54 city tour starting Oct. 18, guess how much tickets are going for? One ticket sold for over $2500, the others go for 4 or 5 times face value. I find this to be outrageous, these scalpers are really taking advantage over popular demand.

I understand the capitalist instinct that we were all born with but come on, $2,500 to see Miley Stewart perform is disrespectful to true performers. This story made me realize how messed up scalping tickets is. Earlier this summer I went to see Daft Punk, one of the best shows you will ever see. For that show, tickets were going for hundreds of dollars more than face value(50 bucks on ticketmaster.com), it took me hours at my computer, dozens of phone calls and trip to the city to finally get tickets @ a reasonable price. Think about how many fans traded in their tickets for a nice 100 dollar bill instead.

Technically it's illegal to sell tickets for more than the face value printed on the ticket but who the hell enforces that law? I don't want to knock the hustle but something needs to be done about over charging for tickets. I think it should fall on the artists because ultimately it's their fans that miss out on the shows. It's ridiculous how tickets get sold out in less than a minute because all the scalpers buy them out, concerts and events should be reserved for REAL fans!

I am mad,
