Today I drove up to watch the Yale-Harvard game. Both teams were undefeated so this was for the ivy league championship. It was one of those, "this hasn't happened in ___ years" scenarios. It was extremely cold up that way, seemed like one of the coldest days of this season. The traffic was outrageous, we spent about half an hour driving around looking for parking. We finally found parking but still had to walk a mile or so to the venue.
There was an interesting crowd at the game, a little bit of everything if you will. It seemed like everyone was sporting pee coats, sweaters and of course students wore their respective school apparel. There were also a lot of people that appeared to be "locals". This sort of event isn't exactly my type of crowd. All the positive energy made me feel uncomfortable.
Seeing the game was a great experience though. It's truly a historical event to witness two great American universities battle it out on the grid iron. Unfortunately, Yale lost, when we left they were getting shut out by 30 points. I felt bad for all the Yale students, you can only cheer so much before you start to feel like the asshole.
I brought my camera to the game but literally only shot 10 seconds of footage. I realized I needed a telephoto lens to really capture anything decent. I didn't see too many people with HD camcorders so I felt a little weird to begin with.
There's always next season boys,
