The other day, February 2nd to be exact, god gave New York city a glimpse of spring. I almost went outside with out my pea coat, a decision that I would have regretted later in the night, but regardless, during the day it was THAT warm.

It might have only been 40 degrees, probably less according to the "weather man" but it's been so cold, 40 degrees feels like 70.

I went down to Union Square armed with my Pentax K1000 (35mm) a couple lens', an almost full pack of American Spirits and a tall coffee.

I made my way down to the East Village aswell.
Then it got absolutely freezing and I was outside for literally 2 hours. I was convinced I had minor hypothermia and needed to get inside. One problem, I was in Brooklyn so there wasn't really any place to go.

I passed by a strange church and it looked like they were having a late night service. I thought about going in, but thought I might walk in on some creepy shit, so I kept it moving.

I walked up and down the same street for like an hour until the doors @ Death by Audio opened.
Even when I got there, it was still fucking freezing cause they don't have heat and it's an old warehouse type building with a lot of drafts.

I saw some bands perform, drank a little beer, took some photos and then called it a night just after 12am.
I met a gnarly vagabond on the train and we talked for like half n hour about life, women and a bunch of other random shit. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of him, not because I didn't take any, but because the film got fucked up.
Oh how I love both the beauty and ugliness of 35mm film. I'm not sure exactly what happened, could be a number of things, might not have even been MY fault (developing). I feel like a guy that met a cute girl, only got her first name and didn't get her number (which has happened plenty of times). The film is gone, the moment and experience gone with it. All I have are some words I wrote on the way back home, no photos to back it up though. Oh well, that's life...
