Jackass World Fully Erect!!!

Jackassworld.com AKA the new home for everything Jackass is fully erect as of the 23rd! The site is host to a lot of old jackass footage as well as newly produced bits and behind the scenes looks. You can also join the jackassworld.com community to interact with some of the jackass stars.

The 24 hour special was pretty rad IMO. Surprisingly everything ran smoothly and they got a lot of good footage. Only complaint would be the amount of commercials and not seeing enough of certain cast members. Highlight of the whole 24 hours was the Matt Hoffman Evil Knievel hour long tribute.

Jackass 24 Hour Take Over LIVE NOW!!!

The special Jackass MTV take over is happening right now! So far, so good...i've been watching it for the past 6 hours or so. I'm actually quiet surprised at how smooth the show has been running. There's 12 hours left and Steve-O's hosting Yo MTV Raps @ 12 midnight!

Jackass 24 Hour Takeover

Hello boys and girls, your ol’ pal Johnny Knoxville here inviting you to join me and the boys this Saturday, February 23rd, starting at noon live in the studio on MTV as we take over the entire channel for 24 straight hours. That’s right, some “genius” at MTV thought it would be a good idea to let us program the whole network for 24 straight hours. I can hardly write this from giggling about it. Letting us program your network for 24 hours is about as smart as letting us watch your bar for 24 straight hours. Ha ha ha…We can’t wait.

We are filming a ton of new stuff for the takeover, and a lot we will be doing live in the studio. Furthermore, as a special treat, we will be bringing you a very special stunt spectacular: “Mat Hoffman’s Tribute to Evel Knievel,” which was filmed in Oklahoma a few days ago. We got together Mat Hoffman, Travis Pastrana, Trigger Gumm, a midget named Mike, a guy named Psycho and a bunch of other nuts in Coyle, OK, last week and filmed some never before seen ridiculously dangerous stunts. We also filmed me getting taken away in an ambulance after doing a stunt highly recommended to me by that meanie Travis Pastrana.

Anywho, the whole 24 hours is going to be an absolute mess and we want you to skip school (yeah yeah, I know it’s the weekend but bear with me, I am trying to inspire here…sheesh), work, weddings, jump bail—do whatever you have to do to spend the whole 24 hours with me and the boys as we get a bunch of people over at MTV fired and/or arrested. Heh heh… So mark the date: this Saturday, starting at noon eastern and going ’til noon on February 24th, me and the boys will be with you for 24 hours straight on MTV. Come watch the idiots as we literally take over the asylum. Under and in.

Jackass-Tequila Pocket Shots

Some new Knoxville/Jackass stunts from Jackassworld.com. It's important to note that Jackassworld.com is NOT fully erect. The MTV special got pushed back to the 23rd of February and consequently pushed back the official launch of the site. No worries, they've been doing a lot of updates in the recent weeks so head on over and watch some rad new Jackass stunts.



PS. My guess as to why the special got moved back? A lack of support from the entire Jackass crew, a lot of these guys have other projects they're working on. Also, probably a conflict between MTV and Dickhouse productions as to what the guys can and cannot do-you'd be surprised how much of Jackass is cut from TV. Steve-O also mentioned that he won't support JackassWorld.com until his right hand girl, Jen, gets paid. Just my guess though.

Jackass+DVD Sales=$$$

I never realized how much money DVD releases can take in. Some of the top DVD's did horrible at the box office but yet they're raking in on DVD sales. Jackass 2.5 is makin' some money...from what I heard it cost about 2 million to release and it's already made over 7 million in DVD sales. Looks like a hit after all!

Some good news for JACKASS fans

So if you didn't know, I'm a big fan of Jackass. When they came out in the early 00's, they revolutionized TV in such a way that we had never seen before. Their movies are so unconventional, yet hilariously entertaining. Most people write of, "The Jackasses" as drug attics, crazy people, insane, etc but a lot can be learned from each and everyone one of them.

As you may or may not know, Jackass 2.5 is coming out soon. What I didn't know about this DVD is, it's actually going to be streamed online...BEFORE it hits stores. Paramount, the company that distributes Jackass the Movie announced that Jackass 2.5 will stream online @ www.jackassworld.com for two weeks (starting December 19), with no charge. After two weeks it will then move to the DVD selves for sale.

This is another first in modern American media. To my knowledge, no company has ever done such a thing like this. I believe this is a marketing trick though, to boost the awareness of Jackassworld.com . The site will officially launch in February and will eventually become Jackass' 'HOME'. What I mean by this is, you probably wont see another "Jackass the Movie" in theaters.
