Ohh fall

Just like that, it goes from being over 80 degrees and very humid, to legitimately cold! I found myself breaking out hoodies and long sleeve shirts this weekend just to stay warm. Weather is so unpredictable, everyone was just talking about global WARMING? Anyway, I've been busy with work and school so I haven't had much time to update. I know I say this everyday but I feel that I should always post something, even if its not much of anything at all. My stats are down to shit and I have a lot of catching up to do. By the way, can anyone make me a site? or logo? or flyers?

Long days @ work ahead

Not going to have much time to do updates and what due to a crazy ass work schedule. More importantly though, IM gunna be makin that money so who really cares? What do I do when not working...I sit around and study POP culture!

Slackin on my MACKIN'

The internet works in a mysterious way.

I must admit, I haven't been working very hard at all when it comes to this blog due to school, work and other unrelated issues. However, I was shocked to see that I actually one of the best days of my career in terms of unique visitors yesterday! Doesn't really make sense considering I missed a bunch of key, current, events. What I noticed though is a spike in some old articles, for example the post about LUPE FIASCO's new song called Superstar, I guess a lot of people checked that out.

What does this tell me? I'm not sure really. Maybe it's luck, maybe I shouldn't post so much in one day, maybe it's the workings of god and I'm not intelligent enough to understand what happened.

Either way, I got alotta work to do and this is only the beginning,

WTF?

What is this, http://lopjaw468.blogspot.com/ . For some reason that links people to my old blog, kinda creepy. I'm thinking its some weird loop hole in blogger.com's database; they probably have a set amount of unregistered accounts linked to other bloggers to increase traffic. If you think about it, more traffic to my blog=more traffic to blogger.com, it all works out @ the end. To be perfectly honest, according to my google account it says blogger is my number one source for traffic!

UPDATES

I just found out my homepage was all messed up so if you went to www.thepopguru.com you got redirected to some bullshit blog I don't own or operate anymore. However, I fixed that so hopefully the stats will get back up to speed this weekend. Tonight Mark Ronson is playing (check posts for after party details), other than that, it's a pretty low key night for me. Tomorrow Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem @ Randall Island, day after that (10/7) common and q-tip(sold out). The rest of the weekend should be pretty wild though, a little work, lots of fun, hopefully no trouble.

I got a JOB

I'm dead tired from my new job. After school I went to my local gas station to pick up my daily dose of newpapers (ny times & us today), the manager essentially offered me the job right on the spot. He told me to go home, talk to my parents and then head back to work that day! I was shocked, no application, no paperwork, nothing! I went home, changed and drove back to the store. I thought the job was going to be easy as hell, but I soon found out I was wrong. For an hour I moved boxes and restocked the cooler after that I cleaned up and did some more busy work. It wasn't impossible but it definitely put a strain on my back. Either way, I'd take that labor over most jobs around my way.

I'm real excited that I have a steady job, it just means I'll be able to make improvements in my life.

October big month for the ME

October is going to be a HUGE month for me in terms of EVERYTHING. Check the events listing over to the right of your screen, seriously there 's MAD shit going on this month, so many bands I want to see. In addition to all that, I have some other personal stuff to do that will take up most of my time. The balance is going to be tough but ultimately it will all make or break my future.

Over the next couple weeks I'm going to be transforming the site. Right now if you go to www.hustlin101.com you'll come to this blog. What I'm trying to do is convert my image to a new domain called, www.thepopguru.com. Everything will be the same essentially, just a new domain as the main entry point to get to the blog. If you haven't noticed I stopped signing as "iHUSTLE", that should be a clue as to where I'm going.

Also, I'm trying to get an actual lay out for the site. Nothing too crazy, just a place where I can organize everything a bit better, right now the layout is just too cluttered for my taste. I have a designer in mind for the project but still need to reach out to him.

Lastly, I'm trying to get back on internet radio. I'm writing up a proposal so hopefully all will go well and I'll be back on the air in a couple weeks. Other than that I'm going to be taking more pictures, going to more events and building up my name in the NYC area!

Cool updates, check it!

I put in some work re-arranging the site. If you notice to the right of your screen after the "about me" section I listed a bunch of important dates. I have everything from movie premiers to a crazy amount of concerts and events through out the NYC area over the next two months. I could put even more dates but I don't want to flood people with entertainment! What I aim to do is have this blog be your stop for everything that's popular. One should be able to come here and plan their entire week while finding out "whats hot" around the world. I might put a link to like 100 events over the a two month period if I can compile a list that big.

What I want to add is another section for videos that will showcase all my favorite videos for the week, look for that this weekend, just not sure how I want to do it.
