Technically there's no safe alternative when it comes to tobacco but what if you could greatly decrease the risk of diseases like lung or mouth cancer? The answer to your problem may be, Snus, The tobacco is placed in between ones lip and gum but unlike "dip" it requires no spitting. Snus uses a curing process that reduces moisture in the tobacco and the placement of the Snus in the upper lip reduces the amount of saliva produced in the mouth. The big question is though, if this tobacco is so much safer than cigarettes why is it banned through out the European Union, except Sweden?
The problem with Snus is the marketing behind it. The manufacture markets it almost as a remedy instead of a different form of a harmful drug. The company says Snus can reduce smoking rates by offering a safer alternative and can also help current smokers quit. Despite these advantages Snus still contains Nicotine, the addictive component found in cigarettes and in recent studies has been linked to pancreatic cancer.
I guess the big question here is how do you want to die? Why can't we just except that there's no safe alternative to tobacco, we should just let the smokers smoke, and the non smokers enjoy their respective vices.
You smoke, I drink,
