New Rothbury Music Festival

"A new, environmentally conscious music festival is about to hit the ever-growing U.S. market July 4th weekend: AEG Live (the folks behind Coachella) and Madison House Presents are introducing the Rothbury Festival, to be held in Rothbury, Michigan on July 3rd through 6th at the idyllic Double JJ Ranch near Lake Michigan. Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Widespread Panic, Phil Lesh & Friends, Modest Mouse, 311 and Snoop Dogg are among the many confirmed acts"

Courtesy of Rollingstone.com, thanks!

I have a problem with large commercial events aimed to bring awareness to global warming and other environmental issues. For one, I don't think Snoop Dogg really gives two shits about the enviornment, I know I don't. Further, it's sort of ironic that music festivals waste a vast amount of energy if you think about it. Is everyone gunna take public transportation to cut down on car emmissions, are the performers gunna drive to the venue, are they gunna power their instruments and equipment with electricity that comes from huge solar panels? I don't think so.

yeahhh,
